Our vision is to be a partner of the farmer and prudent manager of arable land.

We lease arable lands, give advice and help to find the best solution proceeding from the partner’s needs.

AS Põlluvara, having been already operating for 20 years, manages the Estonian biggest portfolio of arable land. We lease about 15 000 hectares of land to 220 different agricultural producers almost everywhere in the Estonian mainland. We value long-term cooperation and are flexible regarding our clients’ needs.

We provide assurance to our partners in making and implementing the plans needed for agricultural production.

We mainly give arable lands to contractual use for an unspecified term. The lease price is created proceeding from the quality of land, size of the leasable area, access and other factors.

We buy fertile arable land by preferring the districts close to the properties in our portfolio. We enable the agricultural producer to sell the land in ownership with the agreed right of re-purchase and the right to remain its user.

We help the farmer in the purchase of the land in his/her own use, if the land owner wishes to sell it.

Organic farming

OÜ Viljatootja wich is subsidiary company of AS Põlluvara carries on agricultural production. OÜ Viljatootja grows grain and legume crops and oil crops in the fields of Tartu and Põlva. The private company’s production complex is located in Kastre municipality, Lääniste village.

As our company group mission is to contribute to the spread of green technologies, OÜ Viljatootja applies 100% organic farming principles in plant production since year 2010. Organic farming, or ecological agriculture, is a nature conservation method based on balanced nutrition. Organic farming sequestrates carbon in to the soil, reduces climate change and uses less energy.

To market our products, we have joined Wiru Vili, an organic producers cooperation in Estonia, which organizes buying and selling of organic produce in order to realize the production at the best prices for the farmer. A large part of the organic products bought by the cooperative will be exported to other European countries.

OÜ Viljatootja has the Bioland certificate which exceeds the EU organic production requirements. Bioland is the largest organic organization in Germany and through Bioland we can supply our colza oil for production of Hipp baby food.

Since yeat 2016 we have invested in the start-up company OÜ E-Agronom, which develops a unique agricultural software, which is already used by a large number of grain producers in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark and Canada.
